DIY objects

Before Between two heartbeats, using cans as materials was just a pass time, a means to an end, not a final object that was worth any attention.

When I made the first heart from aluminium cans and discovered it can beat, I was fascinated, but still didn’t seriously consider making it a final object.

Even after Between two heart beats, I was only thinking of can objects as ways to revive my tutorial site and maybe attract some viewers to introduce them to my rope art.

I started with birds as I already has one made just like the heart, as prototype for my rope objects.

Next, I made a tree as I love trees. Later I decorated the tree with leaves.

After followed the mushrooms and their grass stands.

However, while I was making the objects, ideas of bigger decorations came to my mind. I thought I might endeavour to do something bigger this summer as I wanted to do something other than rope art and felt that I would need a break from drawing the project that was obsessing me more and more.

At this point, I got the commission to make a real size dress from aluminium cans.

Here is how the dress miniature prototype was made.
